About dance

Dance is a rhythmical moving of the body following the music pattern. You can dance in pairs, individually or in groups. It is considered to have started from the moment when man found fire, starting with “dance around the fire”, expressing different emotions. The ancient Egyptians used dancing in order to express their joy towards the Sun, while ancient Greeks used to celebrate the Dionis springtime feasts by dancing. However, the professional dance developed in Rome, presenting either tragedies or myths in solo performance.  The dancer was supposed to express the whole diversity of human characters and emotions. In the Middle Age, as a result of court dances, ballet appeared, flourishing in France and then having top highlights in Russia of the 19th century.

It is always a human body moving expressing either art (ballet) or a kind of mingling (socialization), spiritual or some other ritual or entertainment purpose.
